Rodney Alsup, founder of the MBA News Digest.
Several years ago I began researching and collecting articles about how MBA programs and B-Schools were addressing the many issues confronting their organizations. I soon learned that there were numerous media outlets, both academic and non-academic, that regularly published articles describing these issues and how programs were addressing them. Archiving these articles quickly became problematic due to the large numbers. Then, while serving as President of the MBA Roundtable, I discovered that many of my colleagues were interested in having access to these insightful articles. I wanted to share this information, but the technical aspects of sharing the articles posed a new challenge.
I addressed these challenges by creating the MBA News Digest, which comprises three main elements:
- Relevant Curated Articles – Several algorithms are utilized for reviewing potential articles for storing and sharing. Typically, more than 100 articles per day are reviewed to find those most relevant to B-school administrators.
- Archives – The extracted content from these articles, usually the first few paragraphs from the online publication, along with a link to the published article, are stored in the archives and allow subscribers to quickly access the publication from the original source. Currently, the archives contain more than 5,800 topically tagged references available to subscribers. In addition, the archives can be keyword searched to find articles of interest.
- Email Newsletters – Daily and weekly newsletter updates are available to subscribers. Daily subscribers receive a newsletter Monday through Thursday listing the articles curated each day. Weekly subscribers receive a newsletter on Friday with all of the articles featured during the week.
My objective is to provide B-school leaders access to information about what is happening in MBA programs and B-Schools around the world. You can learn more by visiting http://mbanewsdigest.com. I hope you will subscribe today!
