I’m happy to report that the schedule for your Midwest Regional is coming together nicely, with many thanks to the friends who have worked on the draft agenda, and especially to Notre Dame for the space and support!
Notre Dame will be collecting a nominal fee ($75), to cover breakfast, lunch and breaks on June 20. They’re setting up the registration site – we expect it to be ready next week. Thank you for your patience!
The meeting will open on June 19 with optional small-group dinners at selected restaurants. Like the Monday night dinners at the annual conference, people will sign up in self-paying groups of 6 for these. We’ll have the virtual sign-ups open on June 10. We have selected six restaurants so far, and will add more cuisines & locations if there is interest. The starter list includes:
- The Gage (Gastropub)
- Tavern at The Park (American)
- Gene & Georgetti’s Restaurant (Classic Chicago steakhouse)
- Acanto (Italian / Wine)
- Mercat a la Planxa (Tapas – Preparation for Madrid!)
- Avec (French/Mediterranean)
The theme for the day is “EMBA Foresight – Planning for The Future of EMBA,” or as one of the team member put it, “the discussions we all have offline with each other [which are] so beneficial.” As you can see on the attached draft agenda, we’re going to take a deeper dive into research, hear from industry and alumni, consider how our industry might be killed, and discuss strategies. It should be a really great day!
If you have questions, comments or offers of help (we’re still seeking additional “Deanly” people for the 3:00 session), my contact information is provided below.
We wish you all a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend, as we remember those who passed in service to our country.
With kind regards,
Paul C. Velasco
